How much does a developer from Cefalo cost?
A senior software engineer from Cefalo costs NOK 57,800 per month. That’s roughly half the total cost of a comparable software engineer in Oslo.
THE TOTAL COST ADDS UP FAST: Salary is just the starting point. By the time you add payroll taxes, pension, social costs, holiday pay and office space, a single Oslo software engineer can cost you over NOK 1.3 million a year.
With an external development team from Cefalo, you get top quality at significantly lower cost than equivalent expertise in Norway. Here you’ll find our pricing and how it’s calculated.
Cefalo’s 2026 prices
Prices are effective from 1 March 2026 and are stated excluding VAT. All our software engineers hold a relevant bachelor’s and/or master’s degree.
| Level | Experience | Monthly price | Annual price |
| Junior | 2-4 years of relevant experience | NOK 47 400 | NOK 568 800 |
| Senior | 4+ years of relevant experience | NOK 57 800 | NOK 693 600 |
| Lead | 10+ years of relevant experience | NOK 67 800 | NOK 813 600 |
How our pricing compares to Norwegian salaries
According to Kode24’s 2026 salary survey, Norwegian developers earn an average of NOK 989,336 per year – up from NOK 947,000 in 2025. In Oslo, the average has for the first time exceeded one million kroner — NOK 1,026,459 — with a median of NOK 950,000. In Akershus, the average is even higher, at NOK 1,110,474.
These figures reflect salary alone. On top of that come standard Norwegian employer costs: Payroll taxes and social costs, holiday pay, pension, office space, insurance and equipment. The total cost of an Oslo-based softeare engineer can easily exceed NOK 1.3 million per year.
By comparison, a senior software engineer from Cefalo costs NOK 693,600 per year — all inclusive. That’s half the total cost of a comparable asset in Oslo.
Note that the Kode24 figures are averages across all software engineers , with no breakdown by experience level, so the comparison isn’t entirely apples to apples. It does, however, give a realistic picture of the savings on offer.
- Senior software engineer from Oslo NOK 1 300 000 annually
- Senior software engineer from Cefalo – Dhaka NOK 693 600 annually

Norwegian management philosophy in Dhaka
Our most important factor for delivering on our promise of genuinely good quality is our ability to attract the best software engineers in Bangladesh. We achieve this by bringing Norwegian management philosophy to our subsidiary in Dhaka.
Cefalo has built its work environment in Dhaka around Norwegian standards. Our employees receive salaries well above the local average, work on interesting projects, and enjoy conditions designed to match what a Norwegian employer would offer.
Cefalo today has 200 software engineers in Dhaka and has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the second consecutive year in 2026.
How to get started?
First, get in touch with us. Together we’ll clarify what your team needs. From there, the process of finding the right candidates begins — and you’re involved in evaluating them every step of the way, just as you would be with a regular hire, before the developers become a permanent part of your team.
We often have strong candidates ready for you. If not, we actively set out to recruit. We look for people who are specifically suited to your work, and try to build a balanced team with a mix of senior and junior developers based on your preferences and needs.
The whole process normally takes three months and costs you nothing. You won’t receive any invoices for project management or administration either.
