Supankar Banik is one of Cefalo Dhaka’s longest-serving team members. Over the past 14 years, he has grown alongside the company – and continues to find motivation in the work he does every day.
– What keeps me inspired is the strong culture of collaboration and mutual respect. I work with people who value different perspectives, and that creates a very dynamic and supportive atmosphere, he says.
What satisfies him most is being part of a culture where ideas are encouraged, and everyone has a voice.
– I feel like I’m making a meaningful contribution – not just through my code, but through open discussions and shared decisions.
From the beginning, Supankar was drawn to Cefalo’s values – openness, teamwork, and inclusion. And after more than a decade, those values are still what keep him here.
– There’s a genuine sense of support here. We work hard, but we also help each other grow. Whether it's pair programming or daily standups to solve blockers, I learn something new every week – from both juniors and seniors.
Having worked closely with Norwegian clients and colleagues for many years, Supankar has gained deep insight into how collaboration across cultures can work at its best.
– Even though we’re in different countries, it always feels like we’re working at the same table, he says.
He credits this to the open-mindedness and professionalism of the Norwegian clients – and to the way feedback and transparency are used to continuously improve.
– Their focus on work-life balance and respectful dialogue makes a real difference. It builds trust, and that’s what good teamwork is based on.
Supankar sees working in a global team not as a challenge, but as an advantage – when it’s handled right.
– The time zone difference helps us work more smoothly. We start early in Dhaka, finish up tasks, and by the time our Norwegian colleagues log in, everything’s ready for follow-up. It creates a nice workflow.
He believes trust and transparency are the key ingredients for success across borders.
– It’s not just about delivering. It’s about communicating openly, taking ownership, and building a shared understanding – no matter where we sit.
One of Supankar’s most memorable experiences at Cefalo came during a particularly challenging client project.
– The client had limited technical knowledge and high expectations. It created pressure on our team, and I brought this to Cefalo’s leadership. Their response truly impressed me.
Rather than pushing harder, the leadership team stepped in to support him personally – and helped resolve the situation professionally.
– They encouraged me to take care of my well-being and backed me up fully with the client. That moment showed me what kind of company Cefalo really is.
