– Results like this paints a picture of a workplace with a strong culture – something we work purposefully toward every single day, says CEO of Cefalo, Petter Gustafson.
In January 2026, Great Place to Work conducted its recognized survey among the employees of our subsidiary in Dhaka, Cefalo Bangladesh.
The results confirm what last year's certification also showed: Cefalo is a workplace characterized by high trust, pride, and a strong team spirit.
This is something one of our lead software engineers, Supankar Banik, also highlights. He has been with the company since 2011.
Cefalo is headquartered in Oslo, and was founded in 2010. The company has a development center in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with over 200 employees working in dedicated teams for Norwegian clients.
Cefalo has always been committed to building a Norwegian work culture in Dhaka, with a flat structure, mutual trust, and respect are at the basis.
Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture. The certification is based solely on employee responses and is recognized as the gold standard for measuring employee experience.
The survey was completed by 208 employees, resulting in a response rate of 98 percent. This is unusually high and demonstrates that Cefalo's employees have a genuine commitment to their workplace.
– We are especially proud of this certification this year. It shows that we have succeeded in creating an environment where people thrive, develop, and can envision a long-term future, says our Managing Director at Cefalo Bangladesh, Ferdous M. Shaon.
Cefalo scores an average of 92 percent across the questions in the Great Place to Work model.
Five percentage points above the reference group, the 2024 World's Best Workplaces in the IT industry, which stands at 87 percent. The results are particularly strong in the areas of trust, pride, and team spirit.
On the overarching question «I would say this is a great workplace», 98 percent respond positively. A full 99 percent say they are proud to tell others they work at Cefalo, and equally many say that new colleagues are warmly welcomed.
– This paints a picture of a workplace with a strong culture – something we work purposefully toward every single day, says Cefalo CEO Petter Gustafson.
The Great Place to Work model is built on three pillars: Trust between employees and management, pride in one's own work, and team spirit with colleagues.
Cefalo scores higher than the industry average on all three:
Trust: Cefalo scores 91 percent compared to the industry's 86 percent.
Pride: Cefalo scores 95 percent compared to the industry's 88 percent.
Team spirit: Cefalo scores 96 percent compared to the industry's 88 percent.
Cefalo is now certified for the second time, with results well above the industry average. It is a confirmation that the culture is not only strong, but enduring.
Some results stand out in particular.
A full 100 percent of employees respond that people at Cefalo quickly adapt to the changes needed for the company's success. 99 percent say that Cefalo is a safe workplace where special occasions are celebrated, and that they are proud to tell others they work there.
Cefalo is comfortably above the industry average in all categories surveyed. The numbers testify to a workplace that invests in both culture and competence.
Supankar Banik knows exactly what makes Cefalo such a great place to work:
– What brings me the most job satisfaction is the opportunity to contribute with more than just code. I feel that my ideas are taken seriously, and that I get to be part of influencing decisions that matter, Banik points out.
Great Place to Work also measures an organization's innovation capacity through what is called the Innovation Velocity Ratio. Here, Cefalo achieves a ratio of 18:2. This places the company in the «Accelerated» category, which is the highest level.
This means that employees on all levels feel inspired by and connected to the company's purpose, and that they work in a trust-based environment where they can contribute their creativity and expertise.
Although the results are very strong, the report also reveals areas with potential for improvement. The lowest scores relate to the perception of receiving a fair share of profits and the degree of responsibility individuals feel they are given.
These are areas Cefalo can actively use going forward in its organizational development.
– The best thing we can do for our customers is to have the best people – and ensure that they thrive and grow. That is our strategy, and the Great Place to Work results show that it works, Gustafson concludes.
